I haven't seen it a lot, but my SIL loves it. I always think they start out looking better than they end up. So I guess I don't dress for the women who watch What Not to Wear. Fortunately I'm far away or I'd probably become the Lucky Recipient of a Surprise Makeover. I'd be in the show where all you see is someone running away, very fast.

Ha--well, actually, I think you and DD support my thesis (which was NOT "do both sexes care?", a truism of course, but how do they differ in this regard due to the 60s?)...specifically, what I was commenting on was the fact that in HS, in the 70s, we DEAD Heads thought we were being counter culturish, anti-establishment, blah, blah, blah, but it was far more about being cool, and appealing, and all the other guy stuff (gal stuff too).
However, the gals at Cal were far more serious about it: one (I did) only compare the guys and gals of the 70s at Cal vs ASU: huge, huge differences in dress, shaving, etc (all stereotypes apply). Guys could be swapped between those two campuses much more easily without shock than could the gals...
In any event, nothing so ironclad as my usu confidence would imply, but really, for the gals it was more of a dramatic shift than the guys, it seemed...and, they perhaps "changed more" by giving up on the "what not to wear" approach (which is western society standards, but pretty simple stuff about symetry, curves, and hair length, blah, blah)...?
Nonetheless, I would venture to say that you two may represent the dress code moreso that many of the males here? Dunno...interesting question.

I have seen the show a few times and I couldn't agree more...I would be running away right along with you! I also think the women always look better before...I love my clothes and $5000 wouldn't get me to part with them...and trust me, the people on that show would get rid of just about everything I own. They would also make me cut my hair and dye it...there is no way I'm doing either of those things.
